Trump Stays Up Way Past Midnight To Post Clip Attacking Fraud Trial Judge As ‘Clown’
Former President Donald Trump was up late Friday into Saturday, posting a clip attacking Judge Arthur Engoron over the fraud trial that’s entering its final phase.
Trump was the star attraction Monday at his trial in the fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James and presided over by Judge Engoron.
He took the stand after a week in which both former co-First Sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. took the stand.
On Wednesday, it was Ivanka’s turn to testify in person after several unsuccessful attempts to get out of it by pleading “undue hardship.”
Now that the prosecution has wrapped up, Trump’s team will present a defense next week, but Trump has kept up his barrage on social media. About an hour after midnight on Friday, Trump posted a clip from Friday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle, along with the caption “It’s never been more clear. This New York case is Democratic lawfare and election interference.”
In the clip, host Laura Ingraham and her panelists attack Engoron, one of them referring to the judge as a “clown”:
LAURA INGRAHAM: Mike, let’s start with you. Want to get back to this judge in New York. I mean, I think he actually is doing the public a favor in a way, and maybe Trump, just revealing how biased not only is he is, but this entire case being brought against President Trump, because if it’s covered at all, I think most people see what’s going on here.
MIKE DAVIS: First, I want to commend Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. She filed an ethics complaint against this judge today because he is blatantly biased and he has horrific judicial temperament. And it’s very clear that between this Democrat attorney general, Tish James, and this Democrat judge, and given they are railroading President Trump in New York and they are going to try to bankrupt him and destroy his business, and this is part of the Democrats lawfare and election interference.
LAURA INGRAHAM: Now, Sol, you called the proceeding clownish. Explain that for us.
SOL WISENBERG: Well, the proceeding is clownish because the judge is a clown. He’s obviously biased. Look, Laura, I want I want your viewers to understand this. This is the absolute truth. This case never would have even been brought against anybody other than Donald Trump. You have no victim. You have no loss. The loans were repaid. The banks never complained about any of this. It is an example. What they are doing to Trump is in is what they accused for Trump for four years of wanting to do. They are doing totally political prosecutions. So I don’t know what else can be said about it. It’s truly it’s truly outrageous.
