Cenk Uygur Hits Scarborough, Hannity for Sympathizing with Ferguson Police
This week, both MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Fox News’ Sean Hannity spent some time defending the Ferguson Police Department, as well as police officers in general, for their militarized tactics in the wake of the fatal shooting for 18-year-old unarmed Michael Brown. Last night, The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur wondered aloud why two white millionaires might not have anything negative to say about the police.
After playing a clip of Scarborough scolding the two reporters who were arrested in Ferguson Wednesday night for failing to leave a McDonald’s fast enough, Uygur expressed his “shock” over the fact that he has generally been treated well by cops. On Hannity, who made similar remarks on his radio show, Uygur asked in mock disbelief, “Really, cops treat multi-millionaires with respect? That’s news to me!”
Uygur also pointed out the “great irony” in Scarborough saying the two reporters only got themselves arrested so they could get on TV. “Joe Scarborough left Congress to be on TV, so if you to talk about people wanting to be on TV, I think you live in a bit of a glass house, Joe,” he said.
