An exchange from the hacked Hillary Clinton campaign emails dated to the day The New York Times first reported on her use of a private email server shows a close Clinton ally and the campaign chairman tearing their “friends” a new one for their complete lack of transparency.
Center for American Progresss president and close confidante Neera Tanden shot off a brusque email to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. “I highly recommend.. she start making some other, more positive news soon,” the email read it it’s entirety.
“Really? That’s great advice,” he responded sarcastically.
That’s when he really got rolling, calling out several Clinton staffers and allies by name. “Speaking of transparency, our friends [David Kendall], [Cheryl Mills] and [Phillipe Reines] sure weren’t forthcoming on the facts here,” Podesta said. All three worked with Clinton at the State Department and would have known about her private email.
“This is a Cheryl special,” Tanden said, also bashing Mills. “Know you love her, but this stuff is like her Achilles heal [sic]. Or kryptonite. She just can’t say no to this shit.”
“Why didn’t they get this stuff out like 18 months ago? So crazy,” she said, before answering her own question. “I guess I know the answer. They wanted to get away with it.”
“Unbelievable,” Podesta agreed.
