CNN Guest: ‘White People Like Yourself’ Don’t Understand What Creates Radical Terrorists

During a heated discussion on CNN Tonight Wednesday, Rula Jebreal, a foreign policy analyst, told conservative commentator and former CIA operative Buck Sexton that “white people like yourself” were ill-suited to pursue preventive counterterrorism efforts against ISIS.

Jebreal told Sexton that to integrate Muslims before they turned radical, it was vital to have the background in the language, culture, and religion, in order to understand what was drawing people to the extremist violence in the first place. Sexton defended his record of being on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, actively trying to prevent suicide bombings and beheadings, though Jebreal said, “It’s already too late when they’ve become jihadists.”

In a subequent video response, Sexton said: “Do not dare, Rula Jebral, or any of these other leftist smear merchants ever try to tell me in a public forum that I don’t get to have an opinion on this issue.”
