Department of Homeland Security is Investigating Leslie Jones’ Website Hack
The Department of Homeland Security is investigating the cyber-attack that exposed Leslie Jones‘ personal information and nude photos.
On Wednesday, a hacker infiltrated the comedienne’s iCloud account and started posting her drivers license, her passport and her nudes all over Jones’ website. The hacker also posted a video filled with racist memes in reference to Harambe, the gorilla who was killed to save the life of a child who entered his exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo this summer.
The site was taken down last night, and Variety reports that the Department of Homeland Security is getting involved.
“ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York does currently have an open investigation,” a spokeswoman said. “As a matter of agency policy, we are unable to disclose any information related to an active investigation.”
Jones’ hacking comes after a social media incident earlier this summer when her Twitter account was flooded with troll comments and personal insults. The incident led to the permanent Twitter suspension of Milo Yiannopoulos, who was seen by some as the instigator after getting in a massive Twitter fight with Jones over his critical review of the film Ghostbusters.
