FIorina Applauds CNN for Changing Debate Criteria That Would Have Kept Her Out
Carly Fiorina applauded CNN tonight for changing its criteria for its upcoming GOP debate that CNN itself noted would likely help Fiorina qualify for the debate stage.
CNN was going off a few polls to decide who would make up the big debate (as opposed to their debate for low-tiered candidates), but despite Fiorina’s big poll bump after her showing at the Fox debate, the criteria would keep her out. Earlier today, however, the network announced that any candidate polling in the top 10 in polls taken over the course of a month will be allowed in the debate.
The Fiorina campaign had initially blasted CNN for “rigging’ the system, but on Hugh Hewitt‘s radio show tonight, Fiorina applauded the network for changing the criteria.
She thanked Hewitt––one of the debate moderators––and his audience for being so vocal about it, and said they made the right decision because there just were “too few polls” in the window of time CNN established for qualification.
As for the man expected to take center stage again, well, Fiorina said she’s looking forward to debating Donald Trump. And frankly, if this is how sharp Fiorina gets when Trump isn’t on stage with her…
