‘First Of All, No One Uses Me’: Sunny Hostin Asks Omarosa About Whether Trump Uses Her For ‘Optics’
Things got very tense when newly-appointed Assistant to the President and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison Omarosa Manigault appeared on The View. The former Director of African-American Engagement for Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign was asked upfront by Sunny Hostin how she responds to people who say she was only given her positions for “optics.”
It went as well as you’d imagine.
“First of all, no one uses me,” she said flatly. “No one uses me. First and foremost, let me just tell you a little bit about myself…”
Omarosa, who prefers to go by her first name only, explained that she grew up in Section 8 housing on welfare and is related to people who have been murder victims, which is why she is so passionate about what is going on in Chicago. (As Trump says, she’s passionate about the “carnage” taking place there.)
Joy Behar tried to interject and ask why Omarosa is one of few people able to escape such a life, but the reality star curtly said, “One second, Joy.”
Behar waited, then tried again in a moment, asking, “Did racism have anything to do with it?”
Gretchen Carlson, who was guest hosting, tried to jump in, only to receive a similar, “One second, Gretchen” as Omarosa shared that she attributes her success to her mother’s insistence that the family was “in the church” and focused on education.
Watch above to see Omarosa and Behar continue to go at it until the very end.
