Women’s rights lawyer Gloria Allred will no longer represent Summer Zervos in her ongoing lawsuit against President Trump.
Zervos is one of several woman who have accused the president of kissing and touching her after she previously competed on The Apprentice. Last year, Zervos filed a defamation suit against Trump after he called her a liar while denying her allegations of sexual misconduct during the 2016 election.
Allred has served as Zervos’ legal representative, though she told Associated Press yesterday that she was withdrawing from the case. Allred insists, however, that he leave-taking “has nothing to do with the merits of [Zervos’] case against President Trump.”
“We will have no comment regarding the reasons for our firm’s withdrawal. We continue to wish Summer the very best in her pursuit of justice.”
AP noted that most of the legal work for Zervos’ lawsuit was handled by New York attorney Mariann Wang. Wang gave a statement about the Zervos case to CNN, stating “we look forward to proving her claim.”
