GOP Sen. Inhofe Says McCain ‘Partially to Blame’ for Flag Dust-Up: Was ‘Very Outspoken’ Disagreeing With Trump

Senator James Inhofe (R- OK) was very laudatory of John McCain‘s life and public service today, but made a curious comment when asked about the White House flag controversy.
The White House had initially lowered the flag to half-staff to honor McCain, but it was moved this morning. Following hours of vocal outrage over the short mourning period, the White House lowered the flag again this afternoon minutes before President Donald Trump finally issued a formal statement.
Inhofe, who praised his former colleague as a fighter and a hero, was asked about this today and said that McCain was partly to blame here:
Sen. James Inhofe told reporters that Sen. John McCain was “partially to blame” for the controversy over the lowering of the White House flag. Inhofe said McCain "disagreed with the president in certain areas and wasn’t too courteous about it."
