Greg Gutfeld to Mediaite: Alternative Facts Have Been Around ‘Since Facts Were Invented’

Mediaite’s Travis Irvine ran into Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld on the street and was able to get his take on a couple of different issues.

Irvine first hit up Gutfeld for his opinion on Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich getting suspended for taking to Twitter to label Barron Trump a “homeschool shooter.” The Five host likened Twitter to “jumping off a cliff” while stating that Rich probably thought “she could get away with it” because leftists feel like their heart is in the right place.

The conversation switched to the recently coined term “alternative facts” and President Donald Trump once again pushing the claim that millions of people illegally voted in the presidential election.

“Alternative facts, or alternate facts, have been around forever,” Gutfeld said. He then went on to talk about competing theories on climate change and crime statistics to make his point.

“There have been alternative — alternate — facts since facts were invented,” he added.

Check out the video above to see what Gutfeld had to say about the return of Bob Beckel, James Comey and Trump’s relationship, and what agreeing with a lie says about loyalty.
