‘He Broke Me!’ Kathy Griffin Breaks Down Over Donald Trump in Emotional Press Conference

After being at the center of outrage over the past few days due to her graphic photo featuring a mock severed head of President Donald Trump, comedian Kathy Griffin held a press conference today to discuss the backlash she’s faced.

Following remarks from lawyer Lisa Bloom and herself in which they made the claim that Griffin has received death threats and that she’s being targeted by Trump and his family, the comic took questions from the press. Asked if she thought she would have a career after this flap, Griffin noted that she feels it’s all over.

“I don’t think I will have a career after this,” she exclaimed. “I think he — I think he — I’m going to be honest, he broke me! He broke me!”

With tears flowing, Griffin added, “And then I was like, this isn’t right! It’s just not right! And I apologized because it was the right thing to do and I meant it.”

She went on to say she saw the tide turning at some point when the Trump family “tried to make it about Barron,” referencing the president’s tweet and subsequent reports about his young son seeing the image and being extremely frightened.
