Jimmy Fallon Gets His Shot (Sort Of) to Host Live With Kelly Ripa

Ever since NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan left his gig cohosting Live on ABC, longtime host Kelly Ripa has been on the search for her new partner in crime. A litany of substitute guests have come in to fill the vacancy while Ripa and the network decide on someone to fill Strahan’s shoes; Anderson Cooper has topped the list of consideration.

But last night on NBC’s Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon finally got his shot to cohost Live with Ripa, telling his guest, “I’m not doing anything in the mornings.”

“We’ve got a little chemistry!” he said to Ripa, as the two went off and launched into a game (surprise surprise) called Word Sneak. However, they replicated the usual Live morning show set — complete with Kelly and Jimmy mugs — while Questlove sat in as guest.
