Korean Music Label Suing The Interview for Using Song ‘Without Permission’

A Korean music label is unhappy with one of its artists’ songs being featured in The Interview and is reportedly taking legal action against the filmmakers over the matter.

The song “Pay Day,” by the singer Yoon Mi Rae, is featured in the movie, during a scene when James Franco‘s character and Kim Jong Un are having a roaring good time together.

Feel Ghood Music sent out a statement yesterday claiming that there were discussions to include “Pay Day” in The Interview, but they stopped and the label assumed the song wouldn’t be included. They say they’re very outraged:

After the movie was released, we learned that the track had been used without permission, legal procedure, or contracts… We will be taking legal action against Sony Pictures as well as DFSB, the agency that had been carrying out the discussion regarding the use of the track.
