Linda Sarsour Fires Back at Tucker Carlson: ‘I Don’t Give a Damn What’ He Thinks

Controversial activist Linda Sarsour shot back at Tucker Carlson in an interview on Friday night, accusing the Fox News host of taking her comments about immigration out of context.

Carlson took aim at Sarsour in one of his characteristically specious sermons on Thursday night, blasting the Women’s March organizer for a speech she did calling out Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) over the government’s budget deal, which leaves out protections for Dreamers.

After apparently suggesting that as the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, Sarsour should be “grateful for the opportunities this country has given her family,” Carlson declared: “She hates our country and the people who founded it.”

Appearing on Dean Obeidallah’s SiriusXM radio show, Sarsour responded to Carlson, claiming the Fox Newser took her comments out of context.

“I can’t believe this type of television people have access to,” Sarsour said. “What Fox News is really good at is taking pieces out of context.”

“I am a daughter of Palestinian immigrants — so Tucker was paraphrasing what I said,” she continued. “I don’t take this country for granted as a daughter of Palestinian immigrants who were given opportunities and I was given opportunities I would not have otherwise had.”

After criticizing Republicans and Democrats for leaving protections for Dreamers out of their budget deal, Sarsour went off on Carlson:

“People are living in dreadful fear in this country, it’s not okay, and I don’t give a damn what Tucker Carlson thinks about it. I don’t think it’s okay and I’m going to speak my mind in this country whether he likes it or not.”
