A 33-year-old man was shot less than 15 minutes after he left the New York prison where he’d served a 15-year sentence.
The man, who had been in prison for aggravated assault, was at a Metro North station in Otisville, NY, and was supposed to be on his way to a halfway house in Manhattan. Instead, he hopped into a car for some reason, where he was shot multiple times. He was thrown out of the car, which sped off, and flagged a technician at the nearby train station for help. The unnamed victim is currently in stable condition.
Police eventually arrested the two suspects in Manhattan, charging them with attempted murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. WABC speculated that perhaps the two men were attempting to settle some sort of score.
