Meghan McCain to Mediaite: ‘I Didn’t Know Who’ Bill Eichner Was, ‘He Continues to Be Nasty’

When Meryl Streep gave Donald Trump the business during Sunday night’s Golden Globes broadcast, Meghan McCain condemned the actress’ speech on Twitter, only to then be scolded by comedian Billy Eichner!

What ensued was a Twitter battle between two very different but very prominent television personalities. The Fox News host swears that at the time, though, she didn’t even know that Eichner is a big deal in his own right.

She told Mediaite‘s Travis Irvine as much in a quick interview today, saying, “I didn’t know who he was until he started tweeting me, but now I do!”

McCain also said that his initial response to her tweet was “vitriolic” and that she stands by her statements about Streep.
