Mike Allen Surprises Reince Priebus With Baileys Irish Cream For His Cereal

As they began their discussion for this morning’s Playbook Breakfast Conference, Politico’s Mike Allen had some fun with Reince Priebus and gave him the most appropriate and timely gift he could receive after this week’s twists and turns.

During a profile with CNN a few weeks ago, the RNC chair insisted as much as he could that Donald Trump‘s election domination wasn’t really causing any serious problems or major divide among party members. He promised that it was all “fun for [him],” but one line had some people thinking Priebus was putting up a brave face while he drowns his sorrow in secret.

“I’m not pouring Baileys in my cereal, I’m not sitting here trying to find a Johnnie Walker.”

Trump is now the unopposed, presumptive nominee for the Republican Party, and no sooner did Priebus sit down that Allen suddenly brought out a box of Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur just for him.

Priebus seemed to enjoy the joke, and he asked where he could get a bowl of Lucky Charms to go with it. Allen pointed out that there were two glasses, “one for you, and one for your nominee.”
