Scaramucci Does Marriage Counseling With Dr. Phil: I Didn’t Tell My Wife Before Taking WH Job
The Mooch is working on his communication skills, and apparently, that involves marriage counseling with Dr. Phil.
Anthony Scaramucci and his wife Deidre Ball joined Phil McGraw for his show on Tuesday, and the couple talked about how close they came to divorce during Scaramucci’s 10 day stint as White House Communications Director. Ball revealed that the two almost separated because Scaramucci accepted the Trump Administration position without talking about it with her first.
“My marriage was hunky-dory when I was working for the candidate,” said Scaramucci. “But when it transitioned over to the candidate becoming President, and there was an opportunity for me to work in the White House, I became overly ambitious on that at the great detriment to my marriage.”
Scarmucci acknowledged that he was “neglectful” to his family with some of his previous choices, but he said the ouster from the White House gave him a chance to put his priorities in order and salvage his marriage. Ball said she always knew her husband had “political ambitions,” but they “never really discussed it” before her husband took the job while she was nine months pregnant.
“He’s really driven. He’s really motivated, which I admire, obviously, and I love about him,” Ball said. “But, you know, in some situations you would want to have that conversation, you know, especially these types of conversations.”
During Scaramucci’s time at the White House, multiple news sources stated that he and his wife were on the verge of separating. The two exchanged harsh words with each other at the time, and one report stated that Ball officially filed for divorce after her husband travelled south to attend one of President Donald Trump‘s speeches, leaving her alone while she was about to give birth to their newborn child.
