It happens to the best of us!
During a live shot on NBC Nightly News this evening, correspondent Gabe Gutierrez blanked out a few times while trying to get through the segment. After a portion of Roy Moore accuser Leigh Corfman’s Today interview was played, Gutierrez attempted to report on Moore and the state of the Alabama Senate election, but was having a rough go of it.
Reporting from Alabama, Gutierrez struggled and repeated his words several times while also appearing confused on whether or not the Alabama GOP Senate candidate held any campaign events on Monday. Gutierrez then stumbled to the end before handing it back to anchor Lester Holt.
NBC News viewers expressed concern for Gutierrez immediately after the segment aired. The correspondent took to Twitter to let everyone know that he was OK and that it was just exhaustion catching up with him.
Hey everyone, thanks for concern. I’m fine. Had a moment of exhaustion hit at worst possible time. Onward.
