Paul Ryan Dodges DREAMer Question on Immigration Reform at Book Signing

Three undocumented immigrants confronted Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) during a book signing in Florida on Saturday, asking whether the congressman would support deporting them.

Ryan was in the store to promote his new book The Way Forward when a man and woman approached him and asked if he wants to deport them. “Do you want to deport me and my sister?” the man asked.

Ryan answered by telling them to read his book. “I want you to read my book,” he said.

A third protester, who identified himself in a YouTube video as Ray Jose, another undocumented immigrant, also confronted Ryan. Ryan’s handlers quickly moved Jose away.

Ryan has been a proponent of immigration reform. In early August, however, he voted with House Republicans to end funding for a program that allows children brought to the U.S. illegally by the parents to remain in the country.
