Photographer Terry Richardson Dropped By Conde Nast Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

In a new report from The Daily Telegraph, it has been revealed that controversial photographer and alleged prolific-creep Terry Richardson has been dropped by magazine publisher/media group Condé Nast International.
Richardson has photographed countless celebrities, including former President Barack Obama, Lena Dunham , Steve-0 and Lady Gaga, among others — while weathering a number of sexual harassment allegations.
The news that Condé Nast is severing ties with Richardson comes as a result of a leaked internal memo obtained by the Telegraph. The ban means Richardson’s photography will no longer appear in (or “will be substituted” in) Condé Nast publications including Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and more.
Despite the fact that accusations against Richardson have previously been widely reported (and even joked about), his controversial history is receiving new attention in the wake of the deluge of sexual harassment and assault allegations flooding the media and entertainment industries.
In a response to the initial report by the Telegraph, Richardson’s spokesperson stated:
“He (Terry) is an artist who has been known for his sexually explicit work so many of his professional interactions with subjects were sexual and explicit in nature but all of the subjects of his work participated consensually.”
On the topic of the circulated internal memo, Terry’s spokesperson specifically rebutted that, “Terry is disappointed to hear about this email especially because he has previously addressed these old stories.”
Given the current climate, Richardson will most likely not be the last sacred cow to face professional and personal repercussions.
