Protests Break Out Across Washington D.C. Over Donald Trump’s Inauguration


In a follow up to last night’s demonstrations, protesters have flooded the streets of Washington D.C. to show their anger over Donald Trump‘s imminent presidency.

Anti-Trump protests have taken place around the National Mall and the inaugural parade route, which has resulted in disruptions and confrontations with police and Trump supporters:

Various other protests have taken place around the city

Some of the protests have descended into violent riots that have resulted in property damage;

Riot police have been dispatched around the city in order to address the chaos.

UPDATE – 11:40 a.m. EST: Washington Post reporter Dalton Bennett was caught up in a protest, and was thrown to the ground by police responded to the situation.

UPDATE – 2:18 p.m. EST: Anti-Trump protests are still underway throughout the city.

UPDATE – 2:47 p.m. EST: Protesters have started a fire on K Street.
