Giuliani Doubles Down on Stormy Daniels Smear in ‘Lively’ Call With Dana Bash: She’s in a ‘Slimy Business’

Rudy Giuliani is standing behind his comments about Stormy Daniels not being credible because of her profession — comments which have been widely denounced over the past 24 hours.

The former New York City Mayor spoke by phone with CNN’s Dana Bash Thursday in what was an off-air but on-the-record conversation. In what the CNN correspondent described as a “lively” back-and-forth, Bash reported that Giuliani said the following:

If you’re involved in a sort of slimy business, says something about you. Says something about how far you’ll go to make money. A person who would say no isn’t going to do something very demeaning like that for money. A person who would do that for money — our real point about her is she’s not just generally un-credible, she’s credible from the point of view of wanting get money. She’s a con artist.

“I’m just curious,” New Day co-anchor Alisyn Camerota said. “What does he think of men who pay for that slimy business or married men who have sex with a porn star without using any protection? Are they trusted and credible as witnesses?”

Bash said that Giuliani promptly connected the dots on that question, and knew that the CNN correspondent was alluding to President Donald Trump.

“On the issue of men who sleep with porn stars,” Bash said. “I asked him the question and he said, ‘You’re trying to suggest the president here.’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ And he said, ‘Well, he denied it.'”
