Southwest issued a media statement saying that the flight diverted for “a maintenance review of one of the multiple layers of a window pane.”
Reports indicate that the plane landed without further incident, that it’s been taken out of service, and that the passengers on board are being accommodated with a new flight
The incident comes after two weeks of negative headlines for the airline. One of Southwest’s planes had to make an emergency landing last month because an engine exploded in mid-flight, which led to the death of a passenger.
