‘This is Crazy…Even For a Trump-ite’: Chris Matthews Rips Trump For Being Behind on Flynn Situation

Following President Donald Trump‘s joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, Chris Matthews blasted Trump for having to rely on outside reporting to find out details pertaining to a conversation between his former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and Russia’s ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak.

“The president is not really as privy to facts that he should be,” Matthews said. “He has to read the paper.”

Calling it “astounding,” Matthews said he couldn’t come up with a logical explanation for how Trump could ask Flynn to resign over a lack of trust, then blame the news media for telling him the truth about Flynn.

“This is crazy!” Matthews said. “And it’s incoherent even to a Trump-ite…It doesn’t make any sense.”

Matthews also questioned why First Lady Melania Trump and Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump were in attendance.

“Why is Ivanka there? Why is Melania there, at a state press conference? It’s always bringing the family in, and lording it over us — the sort of regal manner of this guy. It’s unusual in a republican form of government to have a family set policy. I don’t think it’s been done before.”
