Twitter Blows Up Over New Report on Trump Lawyer Paying Stormy Daniels: ‘Just for Kicks’?
Twitter predictably went nuts over the return of Stormy Daniels into the news cycle.
Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is now claiming that he paid Daniels the $130,000––but isn’t giving much more information than that––out of his out pocket, a claim that’s being met with varying degrees of astonishment and skepticism:
"Hi, it's me, the lawyer to the president who paid a porn star $130,000 out of my own pocket for reasons I won't explain. I assume there will be no further questions." https://t.co/f3xWlDWxmw

This seems credible, LOL – they’re all so honest so why wouldn’t we believe him. ? https://t.co/DIry5LdU3r

It'd be a complete abdication of congressional oversight authority if an investigation into this Stormy Daniels payoff isn't immediately announced. https://t.co/1yuYqUsEIM

Cohen, not very convincingly, claims he just did this on his own with his own money. Just for kicks I guess. https://t.co/0nfEgqlFqQ

Fine yourself someone who loves you enough to pay $130,000 out of his own pocket without your knowledge to make a problem go away. Extra love points if it’s your lawyer. https://t.co/WoHW76EFhM

Listen, I’m not a lawyer, but do they usually cover a client’s settlements out of their own pocket and without that client’s knowledge? https://t.co/G1n3yakK71

Just a personal lawyer making an unexplained $130,000 out of pocket payment to a porn star.
Nothing to see here!https://t.co/0v13d0uXmG

Also… why on earth would you claim this? It’s both totally unbelievable and would utterly fail to put the story to rest even if people *did* believe it. https://t.co/P0lWbpLGDe

you're never getting that money back pal https://t.co/yGM7UDGTRM

Sometimes one guy has his lawyer pay his adult actress paramour $130K in hush money after she spanks him with a magazine that has his face on it and the lawyer does it and is never reimbursed
You know…just normal dude stuff https://t.co/oKWapFgTVr

Just a normal thing that a normal person does for normal, non-cover-up reasons. https://t.co/3AZRStr8sC

Michael Cohen had told friends privately in the initial aftermath of the news of his role in the Stormy Daniels payment was, and I quote, “bullshit” and “fake news.” He is admitting to Maggie here that he was lying to close friends. Surprise! https://t.co/f10XZSeZkT

Me yesterday: That Stormy Daniels story disappeared pretty quickly – surprising given how incompetent this White House is.
