Update: What The Eff Is Going On With This Blago Trial?

Former Illinois Governor (and reality TV star) Rod Blagojevich has been starring in his own trial for more than two months now, but closing arguments were nine days ago.

So what’s the deal, Blago’s jury? Guilty or not?

Here’s an update from WLS-TV:

Jurors who will decide the fate of former governor Rod Blagojevich reported to court Monday for their ninth day of deliberations.

Blagojevich is charged with 24 counts, including accusations of trying to sell or trade the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by President Barack Obama. He and his brother, Robert Blagojevich who faces only four of the charges, have both pleaded not guilty.

The jury has not asked Judge James Zagel questions in more than a week. It is not known how close they are to reaching a verdict. The jurors, who are sequestered in the jury room, are only allowed contact with each other.

Ok, so they haven’t asked a question in more than a week – are they just relishing their moment in the circus spotlight? This is taking a long time, but that’s sort of the norm for Chicago politicians and their corruption trials. It took the jury in the case of the governor of Illinois before Blago, George Ryan, nearly two weeks before they put him behind bars.
