White House on Lockdown After Vehicle Hits Nearby Security Barrier (UPDATED)

A vehicle hit a security barrier near the White House this afternoon.
The Secret Service tweeted updates on the incident and said the driver has been taken into custody:
BREAKING: An individual driving a passenger vehicle struck a security barrier near the White House at 17th & E.

UPDATE: The vehicle did not breach the security barrier of the White House complex.

UPDATE: The female driver of the vehicle was immediately apprehended by Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers.

UPDATE: No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident involving a vehicle hitting a barrier near the White House.

UPDATE –– 6:08 pm ET: The Secret Service handled the situation and the President appeared to thank them for it on Twitter:
Security alert over at WH. @Secret Service says driver of vehicle that hit security barrier is a 35-year woman from LaVergne, TN. She was arrested and charged with "numerous criminal violations." She was previously known to the Secret Service. WH back to "normal operations."
