Joe Rogan Agrees ‘Without a Doubt’ Iran War Is a ‘Fundamental Warping’ of US Military’s Purpose
Joe Rogan was on the same page as his guest, journalist Annie Jacobsen, when she argued that President Donald Trump’s war in Iran is a “fundamental warping” of what the U.S. military stands for, responding, “Without a doubt.”
The moment with Jacobsen, whose work has focused extensively on national security, intelligence agencies, nuclear weapons, and classified military programs, occurred during Friday’s edition of The Joe Rogan Experience.
“How much is this Iran thing freaking you out?” Rogan asked.
“It’s just a terrible, terrible, terrible idea,” Jacobsen responded, citing the “hundred or more people” she interviewed “for each” of her eight books “who have been in every war.”
She continued:
All the soldiers that I interviewed, there’s a completely different perspective on the government from those who fought in the wars leading up to the War on Terror. And the people who — you know many of these people, too — most of them, like, they’re mad. They’re really mad that they were used. That’s the sense that I get. Now, not everyone, but a majority, are very angry and feel used, and that is a fundamental warping of what the military is.
“Yeah, without a doubt,” Rogan agreed. “And also, no clear way to resolve this — at all. And it seems like our stockpiles are running dry. You know, bases are getting blown up by drones.”
Calling headlines that focus on the cost of war over lives lost “crazy,” he continued, “The real problem is, it makes America an enemy, and it makes us less safe, because America has done this thing — this unprovoked attack — and so now, they have a reason to attack back.”
In July, Rogan mused Trump “might’ve f*cked it up” in Iran. In June, he remarked, in reference to the conflict, “What the f*ck are we doing?”
