Wrestler Triple H Showed Up to Linda McMahon’s Confirmation Hearing and the Senators Noticed
It was Linda McMahon‘s turn to appear before a Senate subcommittee yesterday. The former WWE chief executive and President Donald Trump‘s nominee to head the Small Business Administration was questioned by Senators on the Small Business Committee — some of whom couldn’t help but notice one of McMahon’s guests.
Seated in the first row behind McMahon was wrestler Paul Levesque, better known to the masses as Triple H. Triple H is married to McMahon’s daughter Stephanie McMahon, the chief brand officer of the WWE and a former wrestler herself.
Their presence was noted by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), who chided Triple H’s physical fitness just a little.
“I just want to say for the record, that your daughter is far more fierce and intimidating than your son-in-law,” Booker said to Linda McMahon. “He and I are about the same age, almost exactly the same age, and Paul’s letting himself slip a little bit so after this maybe we should go to the Senate gym, so I can give Triple H some triple help in getting back in shape.”
“Stephanie can give you a mean hip toss,” Linda McMahon said.
“I believe that,” said Booker.
And Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) name-dropped Triple H along with another famous wrestler.
“I assume that you’ve had some success with local qualified employees like Triple H and The Rock and other folks,” Scott said.
Do you smelllllllllll what the Senate Small Business Committee is cooking? Based on these genial exchanges, it’s likely a yea vote on Linda McMahon’s confirmation.
