‘Bravo!’ Trump FCC Chair Praises Sheryl Crow Sending Message By Selling Tesla and Donating to NPR

Brendan Carr, President Donald Trump’s FCC chair, praised singer Sheryl Crow for sending a message by selling her Tesla in protest of Elon Musk – just not necessarily the message she might have been going for.

Crow said she had sold her car and had donated the funds to NPR – which Trump’s FCC head said was the kind of gesture needed for NPR to run independently without subsidies.

The singer announced Friday that she was breaking up with Tesla on Instagram in a post in which she blasted Musk and Trump. The singer shared a dramatic video of her EV being loaded onto a wrecker.

“My parents always said… you are who you hang out with,” she wrote. “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with.”

She then added, “So long Tesla. Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”

Crow tagged Trump and Musk in the post.

Saturday, Carr shared a copy of Crow’s clip that was posted on X by Yashar Ali and left a sarcastic comment.

“I know celebrities are hesitant to weigh in on hot button issues, so I appreciate Sheryl Crow making an argument here—not through words alone, but through her actions— that Congress should not force taxpayers to subsidize NPR,” Carr wrote. “Bravo”

Carr later pinned the post to the top of his X page and slammed Crow and NPR in a series of replies to the comment.

Carr is investigating NPR for allegedly operating as a commercial entity while receiving public funds.
