Dan Crenshaw Accuses Marjorie Taylor Greene of Wanting GOP to Lose the House: It’s ‘Bullsh*t’

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said he’s “still trying to process all the bullshit,” when it comes to hardline Republicans trying to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Johnson is trying to get House members to support foreign aid bills that would provide aid to Ukraine and Israel. MAGA Republicans like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) are adamantly against any additional aid to Ukraine. Greene has already filed a motion to vacate Johnson’s seat, a move that is backed by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Crenshaw spoke with CNN’s Manu Raju, about the MAGA stance saying, “I guess their reasoning is they they want Russia to win so badly that they want to oust the speaker over it. I mean, it’s a strange position to take. And, you know, I think, they want to be in the minority, too. I think that’s an obvious reality.”

In another clip, Crenshaw said, “I’m still trying to process all the bullshit.”

Raju told CNN’s Jim Acosta, “Now, the question is, if it comes to a vote to oust Mike Johnson, which, of course, would be a historic vote that only happened one other time in history — that happened to Kevin McCarthy in the fall — Mike Johnson would need Democrats to save him.”

Raju said Democrats were meeting behind closed doors to discuss their strategy going forward.

“I’m told that the number two Democrat, Katherine Clark, told her members to essentially keep their powder dry about whether to save Johnson’s speakership because they believe it’ll help their leverage in negotiations as Johnson finalizes his floor strategy on this critical aid package.”

Earlier Thursday, Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) echoed Crenshaw’s concerns about MAGA Republicans wanting to see Russia “win” the war in Ukraine. He appeared on C-SPAN, calling Johnson a “man of character” who is “trying to do the right thing, whether you agree with him or not.”
