‘Racist!’ Iowa Man Forcibly Removed From Caucus For Shouting at House Republican Speaking in Support of Trump

Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) was speaking to a crowd at the Timberline caucus on Monday in support of projected Iowa caucus winner former President Donald Trump when another man walked in and started shouting at him for allegedly supporting a racist.

Hunt, who is Black, was speaking before a crowd in a gymnasium when he was interrupted by another Black man, an unidentified Iowa local, who berated Hunt for his support of Trump, saying, “How dare you talk to us about a racist!” While the crowd jeered and booed him, he said Hunt was “degrading” himself for supporting Trump: “How dare a Black man do this on Martin Luther King Day! How dare you!”

At that moment, the man approached Hunt but was held back by other men who were present. He was eventually dragged out of the gymnasium while the crowd cheered. Hunt continued his talk, later posting his own video of the confrontation to Twitter/X, saying: “[O]n this day, of all days, Martin Luther King Day, the people of Iowa, just like President Trump judge me not by the color of my skin but by the content of my character. The anti-Trump movement is in full blown meltdown.”
