Lindsey Graham’s Sister Declares She’s Running to Take His Senate Seat Full-Time After Trump’s Boost: ‘I’m In’

Darline Graham Nordone — the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (S-SC) — announced she is running to replace her brother in the Senate full-time during a Monday interview with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity.

“I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it. Will it be difficult? Yes, absolutely,” Nordone said.

“So you’re inclined to get in? Or have you even made a final decision?”” Hannity asked.

“I’ve made a decision — I’m in,” Nordone said.

Fox News teased Hannity’s interview with Nordone — her first since her brother’s death — with a clip of her announcement on X. The full interview will air at 9:00 p.m. ET on Fox News.

Her announcement followed President Donald Trump urging Nordone to run for her brother’s Senate seat in this year’s election.

“I hope Darline does this, in that there would be nobody better to honor the legacy of her beloved brother,” Trump said last week.

Nordone was sworn in as her brother’s replacement on July 14, two days after he died at the age of 71. Graham won South Carolina’s GOP primary in June and was up for reelection in November, but his death triggered a special Republican primary. The primary will take place on August 11, with candidates having to file their applications to run between Tuesday and July 28.

“The filing begins tomorrow… by that time the funerals won’t even have taken place,” Hannity pointed out. “And then the president’s putting an ask on you — we’ll put it that way — it’s a lot of pressure.”

Nordone agreed, saying it was a “tremendous amount of pressure.”

But she said she could handle it, thanks to the love of her family and the support of Graham’s staff.

“I know I’m a hard worker, I learned that from Lindsey. He cared about the people of this state,” she said.  I’ve worked for almost 30 years of this state, I feel like I can do it.”

Nordone has worked in public administration for the state, most recently serving as the commissioner of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind.

Beyond Nordone, Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) announced last weekend on Fox News he was running, and businessman Mark Lynch has entered the race as well. There is speculation several others will join in soon. Those names include Rep. Nancy Grace (R-SC), Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette (R), and ex-Governor and Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC).
