Mark Cuban Roasts Trump Cabinet Picks At DC Summit: ‘The Fact That You’re Laughing Says It All’
Mark Cuban roasted President Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees at a Washington, DC summit on Saturday and cited the crowd’s reaction as evidence he was over the target.
Cuban attended the Principles First summit that serves as an alternative of sorts to the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). During an interview with the group’s founder, Heath Mayo, Cuban touched on how Democrats can effectively function as an opposition party.
He also took a chance to throw a bit of shade at Trump’s cabinet.
The billionaire did not call anyone out by name, but he argued not a single person Trump nominated for a key position had been someone he would describe as being the best choice for the job.
“When you look at the people President Trump is choosing for cabinet and other positions, maybe with a few exceptions, but typically you don’t say, that is the best person that I would have picked,” Cuban said.
After being met with laughter, he responded, “The fact that you’re laughing says it all.” Cuban added Democrats could use Truimp’s personnel decisions to their advantage:
And if you don’t get the best person to do the job, someone’s got to back up all the salesmanship and there’s nobody there to back it up. And so that’s why it’s a gift because we can be patient. If you don’t like what you see in the White House, know there’s nobody there to truly execute on the vision that Donald Trump has.
Cuban concluded that Democrats and other Trump critics needed to find a way to “create calm” amid chaos he said was inevitable with Trump helming the country.
He ultimately gave Trump credit for being a strong “salesman” but hit him for failing at “execution” and predicted a coming rift between the president and Elon Musk.
“Elon is going to make his job even a thousand times harder because Elon doesn’t give a shit,” Cuban said of the billionaire White House advisor. “He’s like, fuck it, I’ll be rich no matter what, you know? And so that’s making it harder.”
