‘Nobody Is Scared’ of Ken Martin: CNN Reporter Predicts Blue States Could Revolt Against ‘Broke’ DNC

The Democratic National Committee is such a mess it could have a mutiny on its hands soon, according to CNN senior reporter Edward-Isaac Dovere.

He said blue states like New Hampshire may start revolting against orders because DNC Chairman Ken Martin is an impotent leader during the Sunday episode of Inside Politics with Manu Raju. Dovere shared his prediction right after a pair of damning stories painted the DNC as a behind-the-scenes train wreck led by a paranoid and weak boss.

“There is the possibility that a state could choose to not follow the DNC here and hold their primary when they want to,” Dovere said.

Host Manu Raju chimed in, “Like New Hampshire wants to,” referring to the DNC snubbing it in favor of South Carolina as the lead-off primary state.

Dovere continued, “People [are] saying, hey, the DNC is broke, they can’t do anything to help us anyway. Nobody is scared in any way of Ken Martin as the chair, and so maybe they’ll go and violate it. It is not where the infrastructure of the party needs to be for going into 2026 and then 2028.”

His analysis followed a report from The New York Times which revealed Martin threw his phone at a junior aide’s desk in a fit of frustration. Martin has a “growing sense of paranoia” about DNC insiders pushing to boot him, according to the report.

The Times also dished on the committee’s financial woes, reporting the DNC is currently $2 million in the red, while their Republicans rivals are more than nine figures in the black.

NOTUS followed with its own Sunday report on the DNC’s dough problems. The outlet reported the DNC put up its headquarters as collateral to obtain a $15 million loan last year — a move it said was not unprecedented, but raised liberal concerns because it was not done in an election year.

Raju asked Dovere if Martin could “survive” after the pair of black eye reports.

“He can only leave if he resigns, he cannot be kicked out,” Dovere said. “And so it’s up to him.”
