Senate Dem Claims Trump’s DOJ Told FBI Agents to ‘Flag’ Any Epstein Files Mentioning the President

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) accused the Department of Justice of telling FBI agents to “flag” any Jeffrey Epstein files that mentioned President Donald Trump.
Durbin, on Friday, published a letter on behalf of Senate Judiciary Democrats demanding clarity on the Epstein case. Last week, Trump’s DOJ published a memo announcing that there was no such thing as a rumored list of Epstein associates. Additionally, the memo concluded that Epstein — who was arrested for child sex trafficking in 2019 — died by suicide while he was incarcerated.
As the senator pointed out in his letter, the claims in the memo were at odds with previous statements by the administration.
Further down the letter, Durbin revealed that his office received information that agents tasked with combing through approximately 100,000 “Epstein-related records” were also instructed to “flag” any mention of Trump in the records. The letter continued:
My office was told that these personnel were instructed to “flag” any records in which President Trump was mentioned. Notably, in 2002, Mr. Trump said of Mr. Epstein, “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy, He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”‘ Just yesterday, it was reported that the Department previously reviewed a “leather-bound album” comprised of dozens of letters from Mr. Epstein’s friends in celebration of his 50th birthday in 2003. The letters were collected by Mr. Epstein’s partner Ghislaine Maxwell and included one from President Trump that allegedly “contains several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker… and the future president’s signature is a squiggly ‘Donald’ below her waist.”
On Thursday, Trump vowed to sue The Wall Street Journal and media mogul Rupert Murdoch over the publication of a bombshell report detailing his relationship with Epstein.
