Trump Rips the Drudge Report, Claims Popular Site Is Now ‘Totally Irrelevant’ After Covering Him ‘Unfairly’

Former President Donald Trump attacked Matt Drudge’s eponymous Drudge Report, yet again, on Sunday night.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, “Something happened, but when Drudge went anti-Trump, the site fell apart, very much like Ron DeSanctus. It happened instantly, without notice, but I believe I know the reason why. Drudge had a big moment, but now it’s gone—Never to resurface again. It is totally irrelevant! That often happens when people cover “TRUMP” unfairly. I love it!”

Trump then linked to an article on PJ Media arguing that Drudge “decided to tank the site” by no longer supporting Trump with fawning coverage.

The Drudge Report, a highly trafficked, conservative news aggregator played a crucial role in boosting Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, but the site has had more mixed coverage of Trump in recent years, which at times led to attacks from Trump.

In September 2020 Trump tweeted, “Our people have all left Drudge. He is a confused MESS, has no clue what happened. Down 51%. @DRUDGE They like REVOLVER and others!”

Two months later in December of 2020, Drudge also ran the same image of Trump in a jumpsuit over the headline, “Hannity: Trump Needs to Pardon Whole Family AND Himself Before Leaving…”

In more recent months, Drudge has been far more critical of Trump and has closely covered his various legal dramas – including running images of Trump in an orange jumpsuit.
