Trump Warns of 1929-Style Depression and World War In Opening of Mar-a-Lago Presser
Donald Trump warned of a 1920s-style economic depression and a World War III in the opening moments of a Tuesday press conference from Mar-a-Lago.
The former president declared this is the “most dangerous time” for the United States in history moments after making his way to the podium.
“I think our country right now is in the most dangerous position it’s ever been in from an economic standpoint, from a safety standpoint. Both gangs on the street and frankly gangs outside of our country in the form of other countries that are frankly very powerful,” he said.
The Republican Party presidential candidate said the United States doesn’t know what it’s doing.
“We don’t know what we’re doing. We have leadership that has no clue,” he said.
Trump predicted a “depression of the 1929-variety,” referring to the Great Depression. He also said we’re “very close” to World War III, claiming “very powerful countries” laugh at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“We’re very close to that and we’re very close to a world war in my opinion — we have people that don’t know how to handle it,” he said.
After predicting potential doom, Trump announced three unconfirmed debates with Harris on NBC, ABC, and Fox News. Trump previously said he wanted a September debate he’d agreed to when Biden was still running switched from ABC to Fox.
