Trump Says If He Wins, Anti-Vaxxer RFK Jr. Is ‘Gonna Have a Big Role in Healthcare’

Former President Donald Trump told reporters that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will “have a big role in healthcare” if he wins the presidency later this month.

Kennedy has been a longtime anti-vaccine advocate, including against the Covid-19 vaccine, and other immunizations. He has spread misinformation about vaccines by claiming they are linked to autism despite decades of studies debunking the connection.

On Friday, Trump and Kennedy visited an Arab-owned restaurant in Dearborn, Michigan, for a photo op where he took questions from the press regarding his association with Kennedy.

When asked if he was “comfortable” with Kennedy’s views on vaccines, Trump dodged the question but noted he would have a significant role in healthcare policy.

REPORTER: President Trump, you said last night you would essentially like Robert Kennedy Jr. do whatever he wants with healthcare. What actual role-

TRUMP: He’s going to have a big role in healthcare…In fact, he may be here.

REPORTER: You’re comfortable with his views on vaccines, Mr. President?

TRUMP: We’ll be talking about a lot of things, but he’s going to have a big role in healthcare. Very big role.

REPORTER: Is it HHS?

TRUMP: He knows it better than anybody. He’s got some views that I happen to agree with very strongly. And I have for a long time.
