Trump Slams ‘Terrible Mayor’ at Posh Dinner: ‘I Don’t Give a Sh*t If This Is Comedy or Not’

Former President Donald Trump appeared to briefly venture away from his scripted jokes at Thursday’s Al Smith Dinner to take a potshot at former New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Vice President Kamala Harris did not attend the event, which every four years hosts the two major presidential candidates.

Trump, who was convicted in May of falsifying business in New York and has been indicted in three other jurisdictions, needled current New York Mayor Eric Adams for being indicted last month.

“Good luck with everything,” Trump told him. “You’re peanuts compared to what they’ve done to me. And you’re gonna be ok.”

Later, it was de Blasio’s turn.

“We have another former New York City mayor with us,” Trump said. “Frankly, easily the worst in our history. And it’s not Michael [Bloomberg]. That, I can tell you. I’m surprised that Bill de Blasio was actually able to make it tonight, to be honest.”

Trump then looked up from the notes from which he had been reading and laid into the former mayor.

“He was a terrible mayor,” the ex-president said. “I don’t give a shit if this is comedy or not. He was a terrible mayor. He did a horrible– he did a horrible job. That’s not comedy, by the way. That’s fact. But unlike the rest of New York, at least Bill doesn’t have to worry about the criminals. They owe him big. He let them get away with a lot of stuff.”
