‘Wow!’ Fox News’ Bill Hemmer Appears Shocked When Haley Stevens Signals She’ll Campaign for Abdul El-Sayed
You can’t deny she’s a team player.
Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer was clearly stunned on Tuesday by Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) strongly hinting she plans on backing Abdul El-Sayed’s bid to become a senator in Michigan, one week after she lost the state’s Democratic primary battle to him.
“Look, I’m a proud Democrat and I’m gonna be out there campaigning for Democrats,” Stevens said as she wrapped up an interview on America’s Newsroom.
“Wow!” Hemmer responded. “Okay, here we go.”
Her magnanimity in defeat comes a few days after Stevens made similar comments, saying she is a “Democratic zionist” who clearly has key differences with El-Sayed, who bashed her during the primary battle for receiving donations from AIPAC.
But Stevens said she was willing to set those differences aside to “be a part of stopping MAGA” and President Donald Trump.
“These guys are corrupt, they’re broken, they’re wrong,” Stevens vented to CBS News.
Meanwhile, the president started ripping El-Sayed after his primary win, saying the Muslim candidate won in a “corrupt” state which had morphed into being “strictly Third World.”
Trump kept throwing punches at the Democrats on Monday, accusing the party of successfully getting “jihadists” elected — without naming any candidates in particular.
“When you look at the radicalism and the craziness of the candidates and the stupidity of what they’re suggesting — let’s get rid of the Supreme Court, let’s get rid of the presidency, let’s get rid of the Senate — sometimes I’d like to get rid of the Senate too, but I don’t say it,” Trump said.
He continued, “These are people that have been not successful. They’re people that have been, in many cases, failures. They come from other failed countries and they come here how to run our country. They come from places like I won’t mention because I don’t want to get myself into controversy.”
Trump then changed his mind two seconds later and said, “They come from let’s say, as an example, Somalia.”
