Maria Bartiromo Scores Big With Trump Interview, Rachel Maddow Wins in Total, Demo Viewers on Tuesday

Maria Bartiromo, who interviewed former President Donald Trump on Tuesday while hosting Fox News Primetime, beat the competition in the 7 p.m. time slot Tuesday, while MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was back on top as the most-watched show in total viewers, and in the key demographic of viewers age 25-54.
Some 1.97 million total viewers, and 317,000 viewers in the demo, tuned in to watch Bartiromo interview Trump, who encouraged people to get the vaccine (which he received in January), praised the Washington Post for correcting a story about a conversation he had with Georgia election officials in January, and commented on rumors that Meghan Markle was secretly plotting a run for president. The ReidOut had 1.64 million total viewers and 194,000 in the demo, and Erin Burnett OutFront had 1.11 million total viewers, and was second in the demo, with 308,000, according to data from Nielsen.
The Rachel Maddow Show was the most-watched show in cable news in both total viewers, with 3.18 million, and in the demo, with 513,000. Tucker Carlson Tonight was second, with 3.02 million total viewers, and 468,000 in the demo. The Five was third, with 2.78 million total viewers, and 377,000 in the demo.
Fox averaged the most viewers in total day, with 1.49 million, and was a close second in the demo, with 243,000. MSNBC was second in total viewers, with 1.41 million, and 180,000 in the demo. CNN averaged the fewest viewers overall, with 904,000, but was first in the demo, with 246,000.
Prime time belonged to Fox, which averaged 2.5 million total viewers, and 391,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second, with 2.37 million total viewers, and 357,000 in the demo. CNN was third, with 1.28 million total viewers, and barely edged out MSNBC in the demo, averaging 359,000.
Morning Joe held on to its lead in total viewers in the early morning, with 1.23 million, and was second in the demo, with 161,000. Fox and Friends was second, with 1.08 million total viewers, and was first in the demo, with 208,000. CNN’s New Day was third, with 528,000 total viewers and 128,000 in the demo.
