Trump Gets Laughs From Supporters In Texas For Referring to Anderson Cooper as a Woman

Supporters of Donald Trump laughed when the former president referred to CNN anchor Anderson Cooper as a woman.

Trump delivered remarks to supporters on Friday at an event in Austin, Texas, speaking on border security and immigration. The GOP nominee criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her CNN town hall in Pennsylvania on Wednesday where she discussed her immigration policy.

He claimed that Harris is to blame for the influx of migrants coming across the southern border before shifting his attention to Anderson by referring to him as a woman. Cooper is openly gay, and some believe Trump’s attack has homophobic underpinnings.

“She refused to own up to it, and last night she said she works for strong borders,” Trump said. “The night before, the town hall, with Cooper, was unbelievable. Allison Cooper got so angry.”

Trump crowd reacted to the misgendering of the CNN anchor with laughter and cheers.

Trump repeated the same insult against Cooper hours prior during a rant on Truth Social where he bashed Harris for “putting on a very Low IQ display at a FAKE NEWS CNN Town Hall” before adding “even host Allison Cooper, who couldn’t get her to make any sense, became agitated.”

Cooper has responded to Trump’s misgendering his name in the past, dismissing it as “a third-grade gay taunt.”

On Sept. 6 on AC360, Cooper said, “I normally don’t respond when Trump says something about me. I mean, what is the point? He recently referred to me using a female first name, which I guess is like a third-grade gay taunt? I think he called me Allison or Ashley Cooper, I don’t really recall.”
