Andrea Mitchell Doesn’t Want to Agree with ‘Partisan’ Reince Priebus on Job Numbers, But…
Meet the Press considered the most recent jobs report Sunday morning, which saw the unemployment rate drop to its lowest number in six years — a number partially due to Americans dropping out of the labor force — but also stagnating wages. It was enough for MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell to almost agree with RNC Chair Reince Priebus, who had just said on the show that the jobs report was really Bad in Disguise.
“I’m not echoing Reince Priebus, because he is obviously partisan and that’s his job,” Mitchell said, holding up the RNC chair like a used tissue. “But if you look at the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Financial Times, all the reporting on the jobs data from Friday reported that participation rate is at historic lows, decade lows. 59% are involved in the labor force. That’s just not a sustainable recovery.”
