CNN’s Stelter Talks Bill Shine Hiring: ‘Merger’ Between Pro-Trump Side of Fox News and WH ‘Almost Complete’

Now that former Fox News co-president Bill Shine is about to join the White House, Brian Stelter thinks the fusion between the Donald Trump administration and the network is “almost complete.”

Stelter recently joined his colleagues for a discussion on how Shine is the latest Fox News-affiliated figure to join Team Trump as communications head. He also noted that some conservative figures do not want Shine to get the communications director job, due to a combination of media rivalries and displeasure with how Shine handled the sexual misconduct allegations that forced out his old boss, the late Roger Ailes.

“This merger is almost complete,” Stelter said. “We’ve seen this merger between the pro-Trump hosts on Fox and the White House.”

Eventually, Stelter moved on to talk about how Trump recently attacked his enemies by using Fox News stories based on dubious sources, and also by using a conspiracy theory debunked by his own Justice Department.

“Its comforting to think he just doesn’t have the right information. Its comforting to say ‘oh, he just didn’t now the truth,’ because the alternative is worse.”
