Colbert Somehow Makes Pence’s Oval Office Mannequin Act Even Funnier

Vice President Mike Pence endured widespread mockery Tuesday for disappearing into an existential void during Donald Trump‘s disastrous Oval Office photo op with Democratic leaders, but Stephen Colbert capped off Pence’s day with a viciously funny satire of the ordeal.

During the cold open to Tuesday night’s edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, video of the Oval Office meeting was combined with a hilarious narration of Pence’s inner thoughts. As Trump, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer mixed it up over Trump’s border wall, Pence wonders “if I sit real still if people will even notice I’m here.”

As the meeting continues, Pence’s thoughts drift to other matters, like “I don’t think all gay people are bad. I just think all bad people are gay.”

And by the end of the bit, Pence is wearing a giant fluorescent sombrero, which nobody notices.
