The hosts of Fox News’ The Five praised Kanye West today for his tweets endorsing Turning Point USA’s Candace Owens.
This weekend, West gave a shoutout to Owens, a big Trump supporter, and today shared some videos from Dilbert creator Scott Adams.
Greg Gutfeld said the “vicious smears” against Owens and West proved West’s point about the liberal “thought police.”
He said West is “extra-dangerous to the left” because liberals fear free thinkers, with Katie Pavlich adding that people like Owens are a threat to certain liberal narratives.
Juan Williams was the only one who didn’t defend Owens, saying she’s “someone who is taking money from the NRA for her Turning Point organization.” And he asked, “Are you simply endorsing it because that’s who your patron is?”
He also noted that she’s appeared on InfoWars and said that “raises red flags.”
Gutfeld asked if he’s really calling her an impostor and “smearing” her. Williams responded, “I’m saying there are legitimate reasons to ask questions and you guys want to ignore all these questions and simply celebrate her like a free thinker!”
Jesse Watters brought the conversation back to West, and Williams said, “The same guy who you put down when he said that George W. Bush was going after black people in Katrina.”
Watters denied he ever “put him down” and said, “You read some of these tweets, the man is a modern-day philosopher.”
Kimberly Guilfoyle jumped in at one point to call out Williams for his comments about Owens, calling them “disrespectful.”
