Joy Behar Fights Off View-Mates, Defends Rep. Tlaib’s ‘Impeach the Motherf*cker’ Remark: ‘I Identify With Her’

Joy Behar fought back against her colleagues on The View Friday, defending Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI)’s calls to “impeach that motherf*cker,” President Donald Trump.

Asked what she thought of Tlaib’s comments, one panelist said she doesn’t think Democrats rallying for Trump’s impeachment instead of focusing on their own policies is going to work out well for them in the long-term, citing past Republicans’ calls to impeach former president Bill Clinton and adding she found the language offensive.

“She said that she was telling that to her kids,” said Abby Huntsman. “She’s got two sons, one is 13 and 7. I hope she didn’t use that exact language.”

Ana Navarro nodded in agreement with Huntsman, saying she also had a problem with the language Tlaib used.

“I find it offensive,” Navarro said. “Listen, we spend a lot of time criticizing president loco, individual one, whatever you want to call [him], the guy in the White House, because of how he has cheapened the office of the president. So it’s not proper appropriate for Democrats or anybody in Congress to represent Americans and speak this way. She is now a Congresswoman.”

“We can all agree, I don’t think the language was appropriate,” said Sunny Hostin. She added, “The level of discourse in this country has reached the basement. It’s despicable. It’s disgusting.”

Behar was the lone soldier in her defense of the newly-elected Democrat, saying she can see herself doing the same thing.

“I identify with her because I’m capable of saying something like that off the top of my head at a rally,” she said.

Challenged that she isn’t the one running for office, she responded, “I’m not?… That’s what I’ve been doing for twenty years.”

“You know I have the mouth of a trucker,” said Meghan McCain. “I’m the last person to talk about anyone swearing. I’m also hired to give speeches and when I give speeches I’m not swearing and using [muted]… She’s [part of] an interesting new crop that is representative of the new generation of Democrats which is highly left, highly angry, and I would say obviously using rhetoric that is not in the vain of Michelle Obama.”
