‘Oy Vey! No Bueno!’ CNN’s Harry Enten Uses Three Different Languages to Emphasize How JD Vance Is Hurting Trump’s Chances

CNN’s Harry Enten used three different languages to emphasized just how much of a drag Republican vice presidential nominee and Ohio Senator JD Vance is on the GOP ticket Tuesday morning.

During a segment previewing Tuesday night’s debate between Vance and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, anchor Kate Bolduan asked Enten where the pair “stand” with voters going into tonight.

“Let’s take a look, and I think you can see here, oy vey when it comes to JD Vance. Oy vey!  This is the net favorable ratings, look at that: -11 points for JD Vance. No bueno. Let’s jump to the other side of the screen, Tim Walz, look at that: a +4 net favorability rating, the highest of any of these four folks on the screen right now,” replied Enten. “The Democrats better liked than the Republicans, but Walz slightly better liked than Kamala Harris. JD.Vance has actually, if anything, been a drag on the Republican side of the ticket while Tim Walz has actually, if anything, helped Kamala Harris up a little bit. But the bottom line is here, this net -11 points, no good, this +4 points, pretty good in today’s polarized environment.”

Sticking on Vance, Bolduan asked a follow-up about how his favorability rating stacked up from a “historical perspective.”

“Again, not good. This is something I’ve been harping on throughout this entire cycle. So this is VP nominees with a net negative favorable rating going into their first vice presidential debate. JD Vance here at -11 points, the worst all time going into their first VP debate,” observed Enten. “The only other person in negative net favorability territory is Dan Quayle back in 1988 with a -3 point net favorability rating. If you know anything about VPs and the way that folks view them, you do not want to be in the company of Dan Quayle. JD Vance is in the company, is actually in a worse position going into his first debate.”
